Are search terms passed to an external service?

For BrowserShield: no. All matching is performed locally on the device using a library that is downloaded and stored on the machine. No search terms are transmitted externally.

For NetworkShield and MobileShield in cloud proxy mode: traffic passes through our cloud infrastructure for real-time analysis. The content of that traffic is inspected but not stored or logged beyond the moment of inspection. In DNS mode, only domain-level information is processed and no search content is transmitted.
