Our story

From personal loss to global impact

Alice lost her brother Josh, her only sibling, to suicide. Determined to prevent other families from experiencing such devastation, she founded Ripple Suicide Prevention.

Our charity helps protects people online at their most vulnerable moment: through life-saving technology that intercepts harmful Internet searches and guides them to help.

It is there to say: “Your story isn’t over. There is hope – and help is available right now.”

"I set up Ripple Suicide Prevention to ensure more help and support is given to anyone searching for harmful content online."

The hidden risk online

Harmful content related to suicide and self-harm is freely available to anyone online, at any moment.

These are the moments where intervention can save lives. Yet traditional online protections often miss them, leaving people without support when they’re most at risk.

Ripple technology intercepts harmful searches with messages of hope and signposting to support. It guides those in crisis to free, 24/7 mental health services , so no one is left alone in their darkest hours.

How we create lasting change

Technology

We provide Ripple life-saving technology free of charge to individuals, parents, educators and charities globally, scaling online protection where it’s needed most.

Advocacy

We look to influence change in online safety: we campaign for effective legislation, responsible tech design, and ethical digital standards that prevent access to online harm.

Awareness

We deliver campaigns and resources that help communities start open conversations, recognise the signs of crisis, and support those in need - online and offline.

Research

We work with academics, data scientists and mental health experts to evaluate outcomes, share insights, and advance suicide-prevention research across digital environments.

Partnerships

We partner with individuals and organisations that share our commitment to online safety and hope. Together, we create networks of protection that no single organisation can achieve alone.
